Founder’s Note

How you goin’ mate?

As many of you know, I have been perplexed about why we have not had one person from Australia become a Reach-certified Personal Branding Strategist. After all, we have strategists from most other English-speaking nations – and many who hail from exotic places like the Bahamas and Mauritius. So with over 200 strategists in 21 countries, I just could not get past why we didn’t have anyone in Australia who is interested in the Reach Personal Branding Certification Program.

Well, all that concern came to an end this week as Susan Guarneri, the producer of the Reach Branding Club Interview Series and one of the most connected Personal Branding Strategists we have, referred someone from the land down under. Phew! For those of you who come from the home of vegemite sandwiches and kangaroos, you will soon have a fantastic coach in your time-zone to help you build your personal brand. We can all breathe a sigh of relief!

Now with that big concern behind me, I can focus on some other important Reach initiatives. Here are some things to be looking out for.

The Reach Strategist Database: In the coming weeks, we will be launching a fully searchable database of all our certified strategists (in all three programs – Personal Branding, 360Reach and Online ID so you can find the perfect partner to help you advance your career or business.

Online ID Stats: You have probably already used the Online ID Calculator ™ to determine your Google Quotient – how powerful your personal brand is on the web. Soon, we will help you understand how your score compares to your peers’. Stay tuned for some eye-opening stats!

You can see that we are busy at Reach – working to provide you with the best tools and resources to support your personal branding efforts. If there’s anything else we can do to help, please send me an email.

As always, thanks for your ideas, support and comments.

Best.

William

What have you done for YOUR brand today?

What’s New at Reach?

For those of you who have been following my blog, you will have noticed some major changes. We have evolved the blog from my personal blog to a place where all the Reach Preferred Strategists (these are the select group of certified strategists who eat, breathe and sleep the Reach personal branding methodology) can share their personal branding wisdom. It is now called ThePersonalBrandingBlog.com (not to be confused with personalbrandingblog.com which is a great blog by Dan Schawbel who is a leader in personal branding for the Gen-Y crowd). Check it out, post your comments and let us know what you think.

ThePersonalBrandingBlog is an excellent resource and a great way to keep your personal brand top-of-mind so you are doing things each day to build your personal brand!

Social Networking Poll Results

This month we had Jason Alba, the CEO of JibberJobber, as my guest on the Reach Branding Club Interview Series. He shared his advice on how to make the most of Facebook and LinkedIn. This topic was so popular with our members and guests that we had 300 interview signups right after we announced it. Clearly, social networking is important to you.

In our related poll, we asked: To how may Social Networks do you belong?  Here are the results:

- There are about 6% of our readers who do not belong to any social networking sites. Yikes! If this is you, go directly to LinkedIn or Facebook or your preferred social networking site and join the millions who have begun connecting with others – and building their personal brands - in the virtual world.
- Two thirds of you belong to 1 to 3 sites.
- 20% of you belong to 4 to 6 sites.
- Less than 10% of you belong to more than 8 sites.

In our current poll we ask:

How concerned are you that the recession will affect your employment?
