Founder’s Note
Is your brand environment on-brand? Your brand environment is made up of everything that surrounds you. Each item in your brand environment sends a little message about your brand. Together, these items say a lot about who you are and how you want to be known in the world. Ensuring your brand environment is aligned with your unique promise of value is a critical step in Exude phase of the Reach personal branding process.
I write about brand environments in this issue of reachBEYOND! as I am currently in the process of designing my new office space in New York and am thinking a lot about the elements I want to include. I have already ordered and returned a desk to Crate and Barrel (too heavy) and purchased this desk at West Elm (what do you think?). Of course, what surrounds my desk will say a lot more about my brand than the desk itself. I am planning to hang black and white photos of different places in the world where I deliver keynotes. It will remind me of these great times and also express my brand attribute of ‘international.’
Speaking of International…
As you know, I was thrilled when we had our first coach from Australia register for the Reach personal branding certification program. Well, when it rains, it pours! We have two new coaches from Australia in our current program. It looks like things are speeding up down under!! So if you are looking for personal branding support in Australia, we’ll have a variety of Reach-certified coaches to support you. And we have Reach-certified strategists in 24 other countries around the world as well!
Shape up for Summer!
It’s summer in the northern hemisphere – time for some much needed relaxation. If things slow down a bit at your workplace, use this time to add some brand-building activities into your ‘do-list.’ And for getting into better physical shape, here are some summertime tips.
As always, thanks for your ideas, support and comments.
Best.
