1. GENERAL QUESTIONS
How does 360Reach work?
As a registered user (Requestor), you’ll receive login details. You’ll log into the system and enter the email addresses of those from whom you’d like input (Respondents). You can also request feedback from LinkedIn contacts and Facebook friends. By clicking ‘send’ you notify all of the Respondents that you would like feedback. Respondents enter the system using uniquely assigned passwords and provide their input. When they hit ‘send,’ the data is sent to your Requestor account, without the email address or name of the Respondent. This anonymity ensures that Respondents provide candid responses. You can continue to send requests to an unlimited number of Respondents, until your account expires.
How is 360Reach different from other 360-degree surveys?
360Reach enables your Respondents to provide input about elements such as your personality characteristics, your greatest strength and greatest weakness, skills, and leadership style. It also provides your Respondents with the opportunity to share additional comments. It includes two projective exercises to validate data and enable you to gain richer insights. The Premium and Premium+ versions and the Enterprise version (used inside companies) provide data analysis and consolidation, which reveals Brand Personas and Leadership Competencies.
What is 360Reach?
360-degree surveys completed inside organizations are often focused on specific goals and objectives and do not provide bigger picture data about brand attributes, strengths, and weaknesses. They usually include feedback only from people inside the company and ignore critical feedback from external constituencies, like customers, business partners, and network contacts. The feedback from typical organizational surveys is often unreliable, because Respondents are not always 100% honest in their responses. (According to a study published in the Harvard Management Review, “The majority of managers filling out 360-degree feedback reports hesitate to criticize any aspect of their peer's performance, particularly when raises and promotions may be on the line. Some also worry that negative feedback would strain their relationship with colleagues if it ever came out who had provided which ratings.”)
Here’s what makes 360Reach more effective and valuable. It…
- Answers the question “Who are you?”- not “How were you at X task?”
- Enables you to obtain feedback from anyone with an email address (or your LinkedIn connections or Facebook friends), inside your company or externally.
- Is administered by a third party, so Respondents can be assured that they remain anonymous. No one other than you (and your coach, if you want) can see the feedback.
- Allows for an unlimited number of Respondents, providing a larger sample of data.
- Takes about ten minutes for Respondents to complete, making it more likely that they will respond.
- Can be used by individual consultants, solo-preneurs and small business owners who otherwise don’t have access to corporate 360-degree surveys.
- Is high value for money. There are both free and fee versions.
What are the differences among 360Reach Basic, 360Reach Premium, and 360Reach Premium+?
- 360Reach Basic is completely free. Requestors receive 10-day passwords, unlimited use of the system during the subscription period, and access to summary data. Access to premium features, including data analysis, a customized Reputation Report, and the Video Coaching Companion is excluded (but can be granted with an upgrade to a fee-based version).
- 360Reach Premium provides complete access to 360Reach for 45-days and includes data analysis and a customized Reputation Report. A premium account remains active for a full-year, so you can access your data and modify your action commitments.
- 360Reach Premium+ provides everything in 360Reach Premium (above) plus a Video Coaching Companion to help you glean the greatest insights from your customized Reputation Report.

2. USER (REQUESTOR) QUESTIONS
Who should I ask for feedback from?
You can request feedback from anyone with an email address, or from your LinkedIn contacts or Facebook friends. Select people who know you well and can provide reliable feedback. It’s best to include people from all aspects of your life: colleagues, managers, employees, clients, business partners, networking contacts, friends, and family. This will give you a true 360-degree view of how you are perceived.
How many people should I request feedback from?
With 360Reach, you can send requests for feedback to an unlimited number of people, including colleagues, managers, employees, clients, business partners, networking contacts, friends, and family. Since the average response rate (percentage of Respondents who complete the survey) is 40%, requesting feedback from 40-50 people ensures valid results. Having a minimum of 12-15 responses will provide you with actionable data. Remember, although there is no limit on Respondents, requesting feedback from casual acquaintances who don’t know you well could make your results less reliable.
How will I know when someone has responded?
You will receive periodic emails from 360Reach, letting you know that you have received responses. None of the feedback will be associated with names of people. Anonymity ensures truly candid feedback. At any time during your subscription period, you can go into the system and retrieve a consolidated summary of feedback received to date.
Will 360Reach use the email addresses I put into the system?
Never! We take privacy seriously at CareerBlast. We will not rent, sell, or otherwise use the Respondent email addresses you enter. We delete them from our system entirely once your account is closed.
If I start with the 360Reach Basic, can I upgrade to Premium or Premium+?
Yes. At any time during your subscription period, you can upgrade to receive full access to features and an additional 35-days to get robust and diverse feedback.
For how long can I access my account and look at my response summary?
With 360Reach Basic, you have unlimited access for 10 days. You can check your consolidated summary as often as you’d like, but you must print out your summary before your subscription expires, as you will no longer be able to access it after 10 days. With 360Reach Premium, Premium +, and 360Reach Enterprise, you have unlimited access for 45 days and your account will remain active for a full year from the date you registered. This will allow you to access your summary of responses and make changes to your action commitments.
How often should I conduct a 360Reach survey?
Every 1-2 years. Repeating the survey helps you track your progress in achieving consistent results, amplifying strengths, and diminishing weaknesses.
Why haven’t I received any responses to my request for feedback?
You may have forgotten to hit SEND after you entered your Respondents’ email addresses. Also, you are not able to send requests until you have at least ten email addresses in your list. This is to help maintain Respondent anonymity.
With my Premium version, why can’t I see my data analysis, Brand Personas and Leadership Competencies?
You need at least ten responses before the advance data analysis features become available. If you have fewer than ten responses, invite more Respondents or use the ‘Reminder’ feature to increase your response rate.
How do I analyze the results I receive?
For best results, wait until all of your feedback has come in before beginning analysis. You can analyze your results independently, but you will get a deeper, more comprehensive understanding or your reputation with the Video Coaching Companion. Upgrade to Premium+ here.
2. RESPONDENT QUESTIONS
I received a request for feedback. What is 360Reach?
360Reach is a personal brand survey that has been used by nearly
two million people. The person who initiated the survey (the Requestor) is
seeking to understand their professional reputation. Unlike typical 360-degree
surveys done in the workplace that focus on performance, 360Reach focuses on
professional development. 360Reach offers valuable insights for career advancement.
Will you use my email address other than for this survey?
No! We will only use your email address to send you the feedback form, a receipt acknowledgement, a thank you, and reminders, if needed. Once you have provided feedback and we have acknowledged it, you will not receive any other email from 360Reach. We will delete your email address from our system, once the Requestor’s account has expired.
How long will it take for me to complete the survey?
About ten minutes. It was designed to be easy for you.
Why was I selected to provide feedback?
We suggest that the Requestors choose people who know them well
and whose opinions they respect. We also recommend that they include people
with different relationships to them, including colleagues, friends, and
family.
Will the Requestor know my identity?
No. After you complete your feedback, your responses will be
combined with other responses to provide aggregate data for the Requestor. We
will never share the fact that you responded with the Requestor, even if asked,
and your feedback remains anonymous.
What if I am still concerned with my feedback being traced back to me?
You can click ‘Other’ in the ‘Category of Respondent’ section of the survey, and you can omit adding to the Comments field. (Sometimes, when Respondents provide comments that are highly personal or specific, those comments can be traced back to them.)
What is the point of the projective exercises (Car, Household Appliance, Breed of Dog, Breakfast Cereal)?
Although these questions may seem frivolous, they often provide the most valuable feedback in the survey. It can be easier for a Respondent to associate a Requestor with something that already has brand attributes. For example, if a Requestor provided this feedback: “Mercedes, because you are sophisticated, reliable and respected,” the attributes ‘sophisticated’, ‘reliable’ and ‘respected’ are important feedback that can be used to validate the attributes that were identified in other sections of the survey. The most important part of these projective exercises is the ‘why’ not the ‘what.’
Will I get to see the summary of feedback that the Requestor received?
If the Requestor chooses, they can send a copy of the consolidated feedback to some or all of the Respondents. We do not provide this data to anyone except the Requestor, and when requested, to their coach.
How can I complete my own 360Reach survey?
The 10-day 360Basic version is free! You can get access here.
Where can I learn more about 360Reach?
You can get all the information you need here.
Who do I contact for help while completing the feedback form?
Please send an email to support@careerblast.tv and let them know the problem you are experiencing, along with the name/email address of the Requestor for feedback.
